“No-Sew” Slippers

No-sew laser-cut felt slipper with T-tab seams, and a woven upper.

Laser cut out of a single piece of felt, this slipper is designed so that the upper and footbed can be assembled without sewing. Optional soling can be attached with an adhesive or by sewing before the slipper is assembled, which makes for easy flat construction.

Initial prototypes were cut on the Shopbot CNC mill using a dragknife toolbit. However laser cutting proved to be the better method for this project because of the material and fewer failures at small scales.
